Dedicated Temperature-Controlled Transport for Pharma, Biotech and Laboratory Samples
Dedicated Pharmaceutical Courier for Time-Critical Deliveries

Pharmaceutical supply chains depend on accurate timing, controlled conditions and accountable handling. A delayed collection, unsuitable vehicle or uncontrolled temperature excursion can affect product stability, interrupt production and leave important healthcare or research work waiting for replacement stock.
Europa Xpress provides direct business-to-business transport for pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, laboratories, biotechnology companies, healthcare suppliers and other approved commercial organisations.
Suitable work may include urgent movement of medicines, vaccines, diagnostic products, pharmaceutical ingredients, quality-control samples, clinical research materials, medical supplies and temperature-sensitive production materials.
The allocated vehicle remains dedicated to the consignment throughout the journey. Goods are not transferred through parcel-sorting centres or combined with unrelated customer deliveries. This reduces unnecessary handling, avoids avoidable depot delays and provides one accountable point of contact from collection through to final delivery.
Same-day, overnight and scheduled collections are available subject to vehicle suitability, driver availability, the required temperature and the delivery location.
Chilled, Frozen and Controlled-Ambient Pharmaceutical Transport
Pharmaceutical products do not all require the same transport conditions. Some must remain chilled, while others need protection from freezing, excessive heat or repeated temperature changes.
Europa Xpress can provide suitable refrigerated transport across an agreed operating range of approximately –25°C to +25°C. Common pharmaceutical requirements include:
• Chilled medicines, vaccines and diagnostic products at +2°C to +8°C
• Controlled-ambient pharmaceuticals and healthcare products at +15°C to +25°C
• Frozen pharmaceutical or research materials at –18°C or below
• Specialist frozen consignments between approximately –20°C and –25°C
The required setpoint must be confirmed before collection. Where appropriate, the vehicle is pre-conditioned before arrival so the load compartment is already operating at the agreed temperature.
The refrigeration system is intended to maintain correctly prepared goods at their specified transport temperature. It is not a substitute for suitable product preparation, validated packaging or pre-conditioning by the sender.
Suitable consignments prepared in approved dry-ice packaging may also be considered for ultra-low-temperature transport. Europa Xpress does not sell or supply dry ice, and acceptance remains subject to correct classification, packaging, documentation and operational assessment.

Temperature Monitoring, Records and Traceable Handling
Clear temperature evidence is an important part of professional pharmaceutical transport. Europa Xpress vehicles use Transcan monitoring systems to record conditions within the refrigerated load compartment throughout the journey.
Printed temperature reports are supplied for temperature-controlled consignments, providing evidence of the conditions recorded between collection and delivery. Independent data loggers can also be used where agreed for consignments requiring additional journey data.
Before dispatch, we confirm the required setpoint, acceptable temperature range, consignment size, packaging, collection readiness and monitoring requirements. Collection and delivery times are recorded, with journey updates and proof of delivery provided to the customer.
Goods are secured inside a clean, insulated load compartment to reduce movement during transport. Door openings and unnecessary stops are kept to a minimum, helping to protect temperature stability and maintain a clear chain of custody.
Our pharmaceutical courier service follows GDP-aligned working procedures for suitable consignments. This describes our approach to controlled handling, documentation and temperature integrity and must not be interpreted as formal pharmaceutical GDP certification.

Refrigerated Vans for Pharmaceutical Samples, Cartons and Pallets
The most appropriate vehicle is selected according to the size, weight, temperature requirement and urgency of the consignment.
Our compact refrigerated Volkswagen Caddy Maxi vans provide an efficient dedicated option for smaller pharmaceutical shipments, laboratory materials, quality-control samples and individual insulated containers. Their smaller size allows easier access to laboratories, research campuses, hospitals, airports and city-centre premises while maintaining monitored temperature-controlled transport.
For larger consignments, our refrigerated vans can carry suitable cartons and palletised loads up to approximately 1,000 kg, subject to pallet dimensions, weight distribution, temperature configuration and safe loading access.
Applicable vehicles use GAH refrigeration equipment and Transcan temperature monitoring. Dual-temperature capability may also be available when the selected vehicle, load configuration and required temperature ranges permit it.
Every vehicle allocation is confirmed before collection. Europa Xpress does not send an unsuitable large vehicle for a small sample movement or accept a palletised consignment that exceeds the vehicle’s safe capacity.
Biological, Biotechnology and Laboratory Sample Courier
Europa Xpress provides dedicated temperature-controlled transport for suitable biological, biotechnology and laboratory samples between commercial laboratories, research facilities, universities, pharmaceutical manufacturers and approved testing organisations.
Biological samples can be highly sensitive to temperature changes, delays and unnecessary handling. Each movement is therefore planned around the sample classification, packaging, required temperature, collection readiness, delivery deadline and receiving laboratory’s opening arrangements.
Suitable consignments may include:
• Correctly classified UN3373 Category B biological samples in suitable P650 packaging
• Biotechnology and laboratory research samples
• Diagnostic and quality-control samples
• Stability-testing samples and reference materials
• Pharmaceutical and medical research samples
• Reagents and temperature-sensitive laboratory materials
• Frozen biological materials in suitable temperature-controlled packaging
• Suitable consignments prepared in approved dry-ice packaging
Transport can be provided at agreed chilled, frozen or controlled-ambient temperatures from approximately –25°C to +25°C. Correctly prepared dry-ice consignments may also be considered where ultra-low-temperature packaging is required. Europa Xpress does not sell or supply dry ice.
Every accepted sample consignment travels directly in a dedicated vehicle without parcel hubs, shared-load depots or routine co-loading. Transcan monitoring, independent data loggers where agreed, GPS journey updates and recorded collection and delivery times provide a clear journey record.
The sender remains responsible for correctly classifying, packaging, marking and documenting the consignment. Acceptance is subject to confirmation that the goods, packaging and documentation are suitable for transport. Europa Xpress does not accept Category A infectious substances or any biological material that has not been correctly identified and prepared before collection.
Proven Work Across The UK, Ireland & Europe
Our reliability is built on completed work, not advertising claims. Europa Xpress vehicles have carried temperature-controlled consignments throughout the UK and into Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Previous work includes urgent pharmaceutical and laboratory movements to London, dry-ice consignments, airport temperature-controlled freight, chilled and frozen food samples, seafood, specialist resins, carbon-fibre prepregs and time-critical production materials.
We carry out regular direct deliveries from North East England to destinations including London, Dover, Northampton, Manchester, Scotland and Ireland and we have carried out over 400 European movements requiring careful route planning, customs coordination and continuous temperature control.
Vehicle reliability is treated as part of temperature integrity. Our vans are maintained to a high standard, refrigeration units are serviced every three months and equipment is checked before departure. GAH refrigeration systems, Transcan monitoring, data loggers, GPS updates and printed temperature records provide visibility throughout the journey.
From a small laboratory sample to a multi-pallet refrigerated consignment, every job receives the same attention to planning, communication and delivery. Our responsibility continues until the goods reach their destination and the customer has confirmation that the work is complete.
