Chilled, Frozen and Controlled-Ambient Transport to Ireland
Our refrigerated vehicles operate from –25°C to +25°C, covering frozen consignments at –18°C or below, chilled food and seafood from 0°C to +5°C, pharmaceuticals and laboratory materials at +2°C to +8°C, and controlled-ambient products at +15°C to +25°C. GAH refrigeration and Transcan monitoring maintain and record conditions throughout the journey, with a printed temperature report supplied at delivery. Where suitable ferry plug-in facilities are available, electric standby allows refrigeration to continue during the Irish Sea crossing.
Temperature requirements are confirmed before collection, including the required set point, acceptable tolerance, product type, packaging, loading method and delivery deadline. The vehicle is pre-conditioned where necessary before loading, reducing unnecessary exposure while goods are transferred from the customer’s temperature-controlled premises. Dedicated transport means the consignment remains on the same vehicle throughout the road and ferry journey, without co-loading, cross-docking or storage in uncontrolled depots.
Republic of Ireland Refrigerated Courier Service
Collections and deliveries are available throughout Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Kilkenny, Athlone and surrounding commercial and industrial areas. We collect directly from laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, food manufacturers, cold stores, airports, farms and specialist production sites.
Capacity ranges from individual samples, cartons and insulated containers to three UK-standard pallets. Smaller urgent consignments can use our refrigerated Caddy vans, while larger vehicles are available for palletised loads up to the permitted payload.
Shipments normally travel through Dublin and Holyhead, with Fishguard–Rosslare and alternative crossings considered when they better suit the collection point or destination. Ferry bookings, road mileage and delivery schedules are coordinated around the required temperature and deadline.
Electric standby can be used where suitable ferry connections are available, allowing refrigeration to continue during the sea crossing. The vehicle then travels directly to the final destination without parcel networks, shared-load depots or unnecessary transfers.
Advanced digital temperature tracking is active throughout every journey, providing full visibility and precise logging to meet strict regulatory and quality assurance standards. Real-time alerts ensure your temperature-sensitive goods—whether frozen, chilled, or ambient—remain within safe parameters from initial pickup to final handover.
For smaller, lighter consignments such as laboratory samples, pharmaceuticals, food samples and temperature-sensitive components, a full-size refrigerated van is not always necessary. Our compact refrigerated Caddy vans provide a dedicated, cost-effective option while maintaining controlled temperatures and temperature records throughout the journey.
Their smaller size offers lower fuel consumption, easier access to laboratories and city-centre locations, and reduced operating costs for urgent sample movements across the UK and into Europe.
Since 1 July 2026, new European transport rules have extended tachograph and drivers’ hours requirements to many commercial vehicles over 2.5 tonnes operating internationally. Our sub-2.5-tonne refrigerated vehicles can therefore offer a particularly efficient solution for suitable smaller European consignments, while still providing the dedicated, direct courier service required for time and temperature-sensitive goods.
Next-Day Temperature-Controlled Courier from the Republic of Ireland to the UK Mainlandn
Time-critical consignments can be collected during the day and transported overnight for delivery the following morning, subject to collection time and ferry availability. Road travel, ferry check-in, sailing times and final delivery mileage are synchronised with the customer’s required delivery deadline.
This service is particularly useful for urgent stock replenishment, production-line shortages, time-sensitive samples and goods required for early delivery to laboratories, factories or distribution centres. Direct communication is maintained throughout the journey so customers know how the shipment is progressing.
Where a next-day deadline cannot be achieved safely or reliably, we provide an honest estimated delivery time before accepting the booking.
For pharmaceutical, biotechnology, bioscience and laboratory consignments requiring temperatures below normal vehicle refrigeration, we provide ultra-low-temperature transport using dry ice down to approximately –80°C. This service is suitable for biological samples, organic material, diagnostic specimens, research materials and other temperature-sensitive products.
Specialist UN3373 Biological Substance, Category B packaging can be arranged for suitable samples. P650-compliant triple packaging uses a primary receptacle, secondary packaging and protective outer packaging. Insulated dry-ice packaging can also be selected according to the contents, required temperature and journey time.
Independent data loggers can be placed inside the packaging to record the temperature close to the contents throughout transport. Every temperature-controlled consignment is also continuously monitored using Transcan equipment, with a mandatory printed temperature report supplied at delivery.
